Dual Tool Plus

Product Description

The Dual Tool Plus consists of the Promach Dual Tool and a Tamper Resistant Oil Cap.

If you ride a BMW R1200 these new tools will lighten your load and make it more compact. Made of anodized, CNC machined, 6061-T6 aluminum, the Promach DualTool is 1 1/4 inches in diameter by 1 1/2 inches long and weighs in at only 1.8 oz. The outside tool is for spark plug cap removal, and if you can't get a good enough grip on it, just insert a screwdriver through the hole and you've got a T-handle. This tool can be used on the BMW Oilhead and Hexhead models, from 2005-2015. The hex tool is designed to fit your front axle for wheel removal. It has a 22mm hex that will fit the R1200, K1200S, K1200R, and K1200GT front axles, and has a 19mm hex on the other end for socket or wrench use. You can also help out a friend with an F800 BMW since the 19mm hex will fit that bike. It has a 3/8 inch square drive on each end, designed to fit your ratchet or torque wrench. The front hex tool has been upgraded to 7075-T6 aircraft grade aluminum, which has almost twice the tensile strength of the 1st generation hex tools made from 6061-T6 aluminum. The 1st generation had been tested to 100 ft. pounds with no distortion, which is well over twice the suggested torque for these bikes.

We are excited to announce the Tamper Resistant Oil Cap. It is made of clear, anodized, aluminum. This oil cap replaces the factory plastic cap and the tool used to remove and install it. The 19mm hex in the Dual Tool is used for installation and removal.

I don't mind spending a little more for something of quality and that's just what the dual tool is.

  3. Great tools, nicely made 5 Star Review

The dual tool is a great addition to my tool box. The fact that the front wheel remover nests inside the spark plug cap removal tool saves space. Thoughtfully designed.

  6. Beautifully engineered and a pleasure to use. 5 Star Review

Wonderful to use and to look at. Not only should it be standard in the BMW tool kit but perhaps BMW should contract an entire kit from Promach!

  7. Very well made, nice to the touch and functional 5 Star Review

Great tool. Spark plug tool works great, haven't tried the hex tool for wheel removal yet. Nice oil filler cap, blends in perfectly with the valve cover and gets rid of that nasty plastic cap. It's the kind of tool you want to keep on your desk and play with since form and finish are so nice.

  8. Should be in the standard tool kit 5 Star Review

Like any great tool it does the job, very well made and will save your butt should you need to do some things on the road. Was a time you could do nearly anything with the standard tool kit. I was proud to show friends my tools included with my 76 r90s, no longer so. But I will show them the dual tool.

  9. A Very Nice Tool 5 Star Review

For those reading this who appreciate nice tools, the Dual Tool is it. It's well machined and clean and fits the axle and coil in that clean-click kind of way, exactly as it's supposed to. I carry top quality tools in my tool kit because on a motorcycle, all bolts are exposed. If you tear up a bolt, torx or screw head with a poor quality wrench, socket, torx or screwdriver, it's on display for the whole world to see. The Dual Tool is the kind of tool I insist on when working on my BMW.
