This new product replaces the aluminum seat bar that rides over the top of your battery on the R1200GS. I have had trouble
with this factory bar, pressing down on the wiring on my battery and sometimes making the seat hard to mount. This new product not
only solves this problem, but it also frees up valuable space on your bike. I have used this for storage for an extra pair of gloves or a
tire repair kit. Just don't store items that will damage your wiring or battery.
Installation is quick and simple. All you need is a phillips screwdriver and a few minutes of your time.
1. Remove rider seat.
2. Remove aluminum bar on the front of the seat.
3. Place a Space Saver bar on one side, in the same rubber holder that you removed the bar from and holding firmly in place with countersunk hole facing forward.
4. Insert screw and with a phillips screwdriver, press in firmly and turn until the screw seats
5. Repeat on the opposite side.
The screws are self tapping.

I watched the video online, and thought hmmmm. So I ordered one, and in less than five minutes the spacers were in place and worked great. Plenty of room to add my centech AP-2 fuse block!

When I first received the two aluminum pins and two Philips head screws I was a bit disappointed. Almost $25.00 with shipping seemed a bit much for what I got. Boy, was I wrong!
After installing the Seat Space Saver pins - which was super easy using a cordless drill & phillips bit; I had a sizable amount of usable storage space. Plenty of room for a spare set of cold weather gloves, plus a ziplock containing a balaklava and neck warmer. Now I'll be prepared at all times for a change in the weather this fall.
Thanks for a great product!

This product creates more clearance and peace of mind for clearance of the seat and battery on my R1200GSA. I have a taller battery with multiple connections to both battery terminals. The seat front adjustment bar was very close to the battery connections, this is no longer the case with the "seat space saver". The issue would be if you needed to make multiple adjustments to the front seat adjustments. In my case I am happy with the location that the "seat space saver" is located and have no plans on changing it.
